Buying School Chairs: What to Consider

Teacher teaching her students at school

Here is what you should consider in regards to buying school chairs.

The variety of school chairs that you can find can feel overwhelming, especially when you purchase classroom furniture from us. Our large showroom has so many options that you can spend quite some time deliberating, but we’re here to help you out. Here is what you should consider in regards to buying school chairs.

Consider The Chair’s Height and Your Students’ Ages

Classroom seating made for kindergartners versus high school students should be very different. The ideal classroom seating consists of school chairs that students fit in properly, and that you don’t need to return. Chairs made for the classroom typically come in heights ranging from 10″H-18″ H. You measure these heights from the floor to the surface of the seat. You can use this concept to measure your existing school chairs and find more in the same size. If your classroom caters to multiple age groups, then you can purchase various chair sizes or buy school chairs with the tallest person in your class in mind. Just like with clothing, it’s always better to have an item that’s too big versus too small.

Keep Mobility in Mind

The classroom can be quite an exciting place where change continually happens. From presentations to art projects and more, it makes sense to have school chairs that move. Not only does it make sense to have portable chairs, but did you know that classroom seating can be mobile AND stackable? This function makes it super convenient when you have to move chairs from room to room.

Black and Navy are Excellent Colors for School Chairs

Depending on your age group or the class you teach (such as an art course), a classroom setting can get pretty messy. If you want your classroom seating to look appealing for years to come, we suggest that you go for black or navy chairs so that scratches or stains aren’t as visible. For teachers who desire to be more colorful, the color blue has a calming effect. The color green can energize students, and the color purple fosters creativity.
