How to Optimize Your Office Planning: Part Two

Office Planning Execution Part Two Mark Downs Office Furniture

Office planning makes such a significant impact that we wanted to go into more detail about it.

Office planning makes such a significant impact that we wanted to go into more detail about it. When you design an office, it shouldn’t include hasty decisions. Your office design affects how your employees function within your office space. It also influences how clients will see your brand as a whole. So whether you’d like to rearrange your office or you’re starting from scratch, you can count on our professionals to help make the most out of your office. Until then, here’s part two of how to optimize your office planning.

Make Room for Technology When Office Planning

Office planning is a team effort. Before moving desks away from outlets and phone jacks that employees need access to, you’ll want to collaborate with your IT or engineering team to ensure that the technology in your office is easily accessible. Consider where your printers are, how close desks are to outlets, and if there’s more than enough room for projectors and screeners. The point is that you should have a functional office space convenient for each of your employees.

Don’t Take Lighting Lightly.

Have you ever considered the impact that lighting makes? It affects mood, productivity, and well-being. You might be shocked to know that many employees are not keen on their office’s lighting. As you walk around your office, notate which areas aren’t receiving enough light. Natural light is ideal. However, regarding cubicles and interior offices, this isn’t always possible. Invest in ceiling lights that imitate natural light and task lighting to ensure that your office space is never too dim.

Never Underestimate the Power of Open Layouts

Open layouts are popular in both home remodeling and office planning. When you decide to restrict how much space your office has, it causes visual clutter. Furthermore, it makes any room more challenging to navigate when there isn’t much open space.

Always Leave Room for Exponential Growth (If Necessary)

If you plan on adding more employees to your team, you want to leave room for growth versus rearranging your office when new faces join the team. It’s better to plan ahead versus wondering where you’ll fit new desks or how you plan to expand the break rooms. You should also consider making room for new clients and consider whether your conference rooms have enough space to accommodate more meetings.
